Supporting Young People into Employment in Worcestershire
Inspiring Worcestershire, delivered by Worcestershire LEP in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, is an initiative that supports young people in exploring career opportunities and pathways into employment.
Throughout the year, several Careers Events and Skills Shows take place, connecting young people with a wide range of employers, training providers and industry professionals.
For many school and college leavers, stepping into the world of work can feel overwhelming, particularly when they are unsure about their next steps. As such, these events provide a great platform for these young people to explore their options.
The next event will be the Careers and Apprenticeship Roadshow, which is taking place in October 2025.
Additionally, local businesses and organisations are encouraged to support young people in developing essential skills by pledging their involvement in other careers activities such as: industry talks, mock interviews, work experience placements, industry visits and more. Even a small commitment can make a significant impact. To request a pledge card or booking form, organisations can contact Emma Macaulay at CHIP (emacaulay@chipcharity.org.uk)
In addition, CHIC members in Worcestershire can help young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) by promoting these opportunities in communal areas or encouraging them to attend careers events.
By working together, businesses and organisations can help shape Worcestershire’s future workforce. Further information is available by contacting the Inspiring Team by email: cec@worcestershire.gov.uk.
