CHIC out and about

CHIC supports a range of industry events to promote CHIC’s services to current and new members throughout the year, along with working closely with our supply chain partners to get a better understanding of the internal operations, so we can provide a better service.

Mod Pods

As part of the wider development of the new CHIC Newbuild Framework, CHIC is keen to consult relevant stakeholders – members, contractors, consultants and MMC manufacturers in order to produce an optimal route to market, as recommended in the Conducting the Gold Standard report earlier in the year.

As well as holding two recent roundtable consultation events, we wanted the CHIC team to understand the MMC manufacturing process and to learn about some of the new technologies helping to reduce energy usage.

Sarah Davey, CHIC’s Head of Development, set up a visit for the CHIC team to the Mod Pods factory is Kenilworth.

Sarah Davey said ‘this was a great opportunity to see how the newbuild sector is starting to embrace both new technology generally and to accept that offsite construction is quicker, more energy efficient and better for local residents!”

Mod Pods are available now via CHIC’s Development DPS. Please contact Sarah sdavey@chicltd.co.uk for further information.

NHF Asset Management Conference

The CHIC team enjoyed the opportunity to meet with our members and supply chain partners at the National Housing Federation Asset Management & Maintenance conference over the 2-day event. There have been some exciting developments at CHIC over the last few months which were welcomed by delegates.

ProcureX Wales

CHIC was delighted to be exhibiting at Procurex Wales, to explain how CHIC is helping to deliver warmer and safer homes in Wales, in collaboration with Welsh Government.

CHIC has developed a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to procure Bidders of Domestic Energy Efficiency Retrofit Installation Services. Working in partnership, CHIC and its Welsh members will deliver energy efficiency solutions. The Optimised Retrofit Project will create better homes across Wales.

The DPS is also providing consultants and contractors to support a range of Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety works across Wales.

In line with this new service, CHIC has expanded and created a dedicated team based in Wales - Katie Carey (Procurement Manager), Jackie Leonard (Head of Projects) and Michael Klotz (Procurement Coordinator) took the opportunity to meet members and partners in Wales, to discuss how CHIC’s DPS can add value to them.
