CHIC is pleased to announce that the Wales Optimised Retrofit Programme (ORP) Compliance Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) has been officially published to the market.
This DPS signifies a stride forward in promoting compliance and excellence in retrofit projects specifically tailored for Wales.
The CHIC Wales ORP Compliance DPS ensures that every retrofit project undergoes meticulous monitoring and evaluation. This process aids in identifying and learning from any project specific or systematic challenges related to the retrofit risk assessment, dwelling assessment, retrofit design, installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) and testing, commissioning or handover of EEMs.
Under this DPS, service providers are tasked with conducting thorough monitoring and evaluation activities for each retrofit project. This evaluation process fosters accountability and facilitates continuous improvement by capturing valuable insights and lessons learned from past projects.
The DPS also incorporates an additional provision for compliance auditors. These auditors play a crucial role in auditing the entire end to end retrofit process, verifying that all necessary steps have been completed. By involving compliance auditors, an added layer of assurance is established, enhancing the overall quality and reliability.
The DPS is tailored to meet the specific requirements of retrofit initiatives in Wales. These requirements may encompass regional regulations, energy efficiency targets and sustainability goals set forth by the Welsh government. By aligning with these unique provisions, the DPS ensures that retrofit projects in Wales adhere to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
The introduction of the CHIC Wales ORP Compliance DPS highlights Wales' commitment to driving excellence and compliance in retrofit initiatives. Ultimately, this initiative aims to enhance the overall performance and energy efficiency of dwellings, contributing to a more sustainable built environment in Wales.
We encourage all stakeholders involved in retrofit projects to familiarise themselves with the DPS and for relevant suppliers who meet the criteria to tender to become an approved supplier. By adhering to its guidelines and principles, we can collectively ensure the successful implementation of retrofit projects and create lasting positive impacts on our communities.
